Google\’s latest flagship phone, the Pixel 8, was introduced in October with a starting price of $699 (£699, AU$1,199). This is $100 more than the previous Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 models. The Pixel 8 lineup is targeted towards users seeking a high-end Android phone that excels in photography, a key focus for Google. It boasts a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a higher-res 10-megapixel selfie camera compared to its predecessors.

One of the major improvements in the Pixel 8 is its software, a key selling point for Pixel phones. The Pixel 8 series offers seven years of support for Android OS and security upgrades, surpassing competitors like Samsung. The design of the Pixel 8 remains similar to its predecessors, with minor changes in appearance, a larger screen, and a lighter weight.

In addition to software updates, the Pixel 8 introduces new features like Night Sight for video, Audio Magic Eraser, and Best Take for photo editing. The Pixel 8 is powered by Google’s Tensor 3 chip, offering 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. It also includes a 4,575 mAh battery, supporting a higher refresh rate of 120Hz on the display and faster charging speeds.
