Google Chrome to Distrust Two Certificate Authorities Over Compliance and Conduct Issues

Google has announced that it will stop trusting digital certificates issued by Chunghwa Telecom and Netlock due to “patterns of concerning behavior observed over the past year.” This change is set to take effect with the release of Chrome 139, anticipated in early August 2025, following the current major version 137. The update will impact all Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols, aligning with the new guidelines established by Google.
