At the eighth annual Heart Hero Awards, hosted by Vernon Kay, the British Heart Foundation honored individuals and groups for their exceptional contributions to combating cardiovascular disease. Among the awardees was Polly, a golden retriever, who received the ‘Bark Hero Award’ for alerting owner Hannah Cooke during her husband Adam’s cardiac arrest, enabling her to perform CPR and save his life. The ceremony also recognized long-term fundraisers Shirley West and Maureen Lemin, and the Frost family for their efforts in genetic testing for heart conditions. Other notable attendees included BHF ambassadors and corporate partners, highlighting the charity’s impact on heart health awareness and research funding.
