The Vegas Golden Knights acquired defenseman Rasmus Andersson from the Calgary Flames in exchange for Zach Whitecloud, prospect Abram Wiebe, and conditional draft picks. General manager Kelly McCrimmon emphasized Andersson’s high-end skills, including his offensive capabilities and possession drive. The Flames retained 50% of Andersson’s salary, and the trade was expedited to avoid injury risks before the Olympic break. Andersson, who has 30 points this season, will reunite with former teammate Noah Hanifin upon his debut.
