Tauranga motorcycle crash trial: Rider gives evidence regarding pedestrian deaths

Geoffrey and Karen Boucher were killed after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing State Highway 2 in July 2022. A 60-year-old man with interim name suppression is on trial for manslaughter in the High Court at Rotorua, with the Crown alleging he was speeding and ran a red light. The defence argues that the pedestrian crossing was dangerous, prompting the rider to question why he didn’t see the victims.
