German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has lost a vote of confidence in the German parliament, a move he strategically planned to trigger new elections and come back stronger. The collapse of his coalition government earlier in November led to the confidence vote, with 394 members voting no, 207 yes, and 116 abstaining. Scholz hopes to win the upcoming elections in February and form a new coalition under his renewed leadership, after facing challenges within his previous coalition due to economic woes and internal conflicts.
