A woman and six men are accused of being behind a string of attacks between 2018 and 2023 that injured several people.
A German court has opened a trial against seven left-wing activists from the Antifa Ost group for violent attacks on right-wing hardliners between 2018 and 2023, dubbed the “hammer gang.” The accused include lead defendant Lina E and six men, with some also linked to incidents in Budapest during a right-wing event. This high-profile case reflects rising tensions in eastern Germany, where far-right groups are gaining support. The trial is projected to continue until July 2026.
