Preliminary autopsy results did not determine the cause of death for Gene Hackman and his wife in Santa Fe, New Mexico, ruling out carbon monoxide poisoning and foul play. Hackman’s pacemaker stopped working on Feb. 17, possibly indicating he died nine days earlier. Toxicology tests are pending to determine if pills or other drugs were a factor in their deaths.
