SINGAPORE: Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong defended labour chief Ng Chee Meng regarding the aborted Income-Allianz deal, stating that the deal was initially deemed reasonable by the NTUC and explaining that only one WP MP questioned it in Parliament. Lee highlighted that six non-labour PAP MPs had raised questions about the deal and criticized the Workers’ Party for their lack of opposition, implying their inaction would have allowed the deal to proceed. He praised Ng for his continued service in the NTUC despite the PAP’s electoral loss in Sengkang GRC.
