GE2025: Employees should be given day off or salary in lieu as Polling Day falls on a Saturday, says MOM

SINGAPORE: Polling Day Off

Employees in Singapore are entitled to a day off or salary in lieu for Polling Day on May 3, which is declared a public holiday. The Ministry of Manpower stated that this day should be treated like any other public holiday under the Employment Act, ensuring that employees receive paid time off or compensation if required to work. Employers have the option to grant time-off-in-lieu for certain employees who work on this holiday, depending on their salary brackets.
