Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Mohamad Maliki Osman announced that he will not contest in East Coast GRC in the upcoming General Election, with his spot being taken by PAP new face Mdm Hazlina Abdul Halim. Dr Maliki stated that he is not retiring from politics but will not stand as part of the new East Coast GRC team, urging residents to support Mdm Hazlina. Mdm Hazlina, a former CEO and president, will join the five-MP ward, replacing Dr Maliki in the constituency.
