The UN warns that Gaza is facing famine, describing it as the “hungriest place on Earth,” with its residents suffering from severe shortages of food and aid amid ongoing Israeli military actions. Despite a limited resumption of aid after a prolonged blockade, the UN reports that operations are severely obstructed, with many aid trucks not reaching those in need, leaving Palestinians desperate and struggling for basic necessities. Critics highlight that the distribution of aid is inadequate and often controlled in a manner that exacerbates their suffering, with many returning empty-handed from aid points.
