Gabe Newell, co-founder of Valve, has launched a brain-computer interface startup, Starfish Neuroscience, which plans to produce its first brain chip by late 2025. This chip aims to be smaller and less invasive than competitors, allowing simultaneous access to multiple brain regions while utilizing low power and wireless transmission. Starfish is also developing additional technologies for neurological therapies, including a precision hyperthermia device and a robotically guided transcranial magnetic stimulation system.
