Police Investigate Shooting at Waitārere Beach Property

Police responded to a Waitārere Beach property after reports of an unlicensed firearm being stored in a shed. Shortly after, a fatal shooting occurred, resulting in the death of 60-year-old Benjamin Timmins and critical injuries to a 46-year-old woman and two young men aged 17 and 21. Manawatū Area Commander Inspector Ross Grantham stated that the scene examination would take several days. The initial police call was made around 7:15 PM on January 13.
