Poundland is set to close over a dozen stores across the UK as part of a restructuring plan led by its new owner, Gordon Brothers, following its sale for £1. The chain, which has already shut 48 stores, aims to reduce its locations from around 800 to 650 due to financial losses. Despite these closures, Poundland plans to focus on women’s clothing and seasonal products while returning to a simple pricing model. The changes have put approximately 1,000 jobs at risk, but the company intends to keep as many stores open as possible.
