From the depths: How art, and storytelling, helped Fremantle artist Kelsey Ashe heal

In July 2023, artist Kelsey Ashe wrote a story about a selkie child with a condition at her neck, which took a tragic turn when her daughter Delphi was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor five weeks later. As Delphi underwent treatment and recovery, Ashe transformed her initial story into a novella reflecting hope and resilience amid grief.
