French fugitive Mohamed Amra, known as “The Fly,” was extradited from Romania to France after being arrested in Bucharest, ending a nine-month international manhunt following a deadly escape that killed two guards. Amra, who had dyed his hair red to avoid detection, was handed over to French authorities at an airport near Bucharest and taken to the main Paris courthouse, where he will face charges for burglary, murder, attempted murder, and escaping from custody. French President Emmanuel Macron praised the capture as a “formidable success,” and 25 people have been detained in multiple countries in connection to his escape.
