French court to rule in September in Sarkozy Libya funding case

On September 25, a French court will rule on former president Nicolas Sarkozy’s trial for allegedly accepting illegal campaign financing from Moamer Kadhafi. Sarkozy denies the charges and is already serving a sentence in a separate case. Prosecutors claim he made a pact with Kadhafi to fund his presidential campaign, but defense argues the funding does not exist.
