In the last three months, anti-fox hunting activists reported nine pets killed, 22 road-traffic accidents, and at least 106 foxes chased by hunts during fox cub hunting season in England and Wales. The League Against Cruel Sports documented 127 cases of suspected illegal fox cub hunting, 315 instances of hunts causing “hunt havoc,” and 69 meets with evidence of illegal hunting, despite the hunting ban in 2005. The figures, likely an underestimate, highlight the ongoing issue of illegal fox hunting and disruptive behavior by hunts in rural communities.
