On Tuesday evening in Tel Aviv, four people were stabbed by Moroccan national Abdelaziz Kaddi, a 29-year-old Brooklyn resident with a US permanent residency permit obtained through the American lottery program. Kaddi, originally from Morocco, entered Israel on a tourist visa and carried out the attack on Nahalat Binyamin Street before being shot and killed by a female police officer on Gruzenberg Street. Despite Immigration Authority’s initial concerns, Shin Bet officers allowed Kaddi to enter the country, prompting Interior Minister Moshe Arbel’s call for a review of the incident.
