Fernando Alonso will be delayed in arriving at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix due to receiving medical treatment for an intestinal infection in Europe after falling ill before the Mexico City Grand Prix. The Aston Martin driver missed media day in Mexico and will miss Thursday’s media day in Brazil as well, but the team confirmed his return to Europe was necessary to ensure his readiness for the weekend’s racing, which includes a sprint weekend format with races on Saturday and Sunday.
