Former MLB pitcher Daniel Serafini was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the 2021 murder of his father-in-law, Gary Spohr, and the attempted murder of his mother-in-law, Wendy Wood, during a burglary. Serafini, 51, was convicted of first-degree murder and burglary after evidence revealed his animosity towards his in-laws, including threats to have them killed. Despite maintaining his innocence during sentencing, he will serve his time in California’s correctional system.
