Former football players sue over 'Last Chance U'

Six former East Mississippi Community College football players featured in the documentary series “Last Chance U” are suing the school, Netflix, the NJCAA, and the director for $30 million, alleging they were not compensated for their appearances and their likeness was wrongfully used. The players claim they were pressured into signing contracts without legal consultation, were not informed of the commercial use of the documentary, and were unable to negotiate terms. They also allege that East Mississippi sold merchandise involving them without compensation and that their reputations were damaged by being portrayed in a false light.
