Munster Police officer Ryan Perez was involved in multiple officer-involved shootings during his time with the Dolton Police Department, which resulted in the deaths of three individuals. Despite civil lawsuits filed against him, investigations by the Illinois State Police Public Integrity Unit ruled the incidents justifiable, and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx did not file criminal charges. Perez was recently hired by the Munster Police Department, starting as a first-class officer with an annual salary of $81,785.60, following a thorough background investigation conducted by Chief Steve Scheckel.
