A corrections deputy was shot and killed in south Florida in a targeted attack, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The 39-year-old off-duty deputy was found with gunshot wounds and transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The deputy, who had been with the agency for three years, was given a ceremonial escort from the hospital to the medical examiner’s office, and a suspect has not yet been identified.
