A Melbourne, Florida family is facing a $12,000 electric bill and without power in 90-degree heat after Florida Power & Light alleges meter tampering led to underreporting of electric usage. Michelle White, a resident of the home, stated that a Florida Power & Light worker turned off their power last Wednesday. A letter left on their door explained that the issue stemmed from tampering with the electric meter.
