This week, the UK and the International Energy Agency hosted an international conference at Lancaster House in London, bringing together ministers and officials from 60 countries to discuss energy security, focusing on critical minerals, nuclear power, and the ‘weaponisation’ of energy supplies. The EU had a strong presence, and the US was represented by a high-ranking official, while China notably did not attend. These discussions highlight the global emphasis on addressing energy security challenges amidst geopolitical tensions.
