Gardaí in Co Kildare arrested five men after seizing 19 petrol bombs from a car they stopped. Four men were apprehended initially, with a fifth man in his late 40s brandishing a knife. The improvised explosive devices were intercepted by detective gardaí from Leixlip Garda Station in the Carbury area around 11.30pm on Monday.
