Fisk University’s Jubilee Hall in Nashville, Tennessee, reported concerning text messages targeting its community, prompting campus safety officials to be on “high alert” for threats of violence and intimidation. The messages, believed to be from automated bots or malicious actors, have been described as disturbing and offensive, with reports indicating racist content directing students to report to vans for transportation to plantations. Maya Brown, from Fisk’s Office of Marketing and Communications, did not disclose the specific contents of the messages, but the historically Black campus is actively addressing the situation.
