First-of-its-kind conference on ‘Fundamental Rights at the Heart of Policing’

Law enforcement authorities, academia, and NGOs convened at Europol headquarters on 20 and 21 February 2025 for the ‘Fundamental Rights at the Heart of Policing’ conference, led by Europol’s Fundamental Rights Officer. The event brought together 130 participants from 25 EU Member States and 11 non-EU countries, along with representatives from various organizations. The conference aimed to address the importance of fundamental rights in policing and foster collaboration among stakeholders.
