Valérie Grenon, president of the Fédération des intervenantes en petite enfance (FIPEQ), a union representing 9,000 family daycare workers and 3,000 workers in Quebec’s Centres de la petite enfance (CPEs), is stepping down amid ongoing contract negotiations with the Quebec government. Grenon’s departure comes as negotiations to renew the collective agreement for family daycare providers and CPE employees continue after several months of discussions.
