Fine Gael’s Emma Blain elected Lord Mayor of Dublin – The Irish Times

Fine Gael councillor Emma Blain has been elected as the 357th Lord Mayor of Dublin, succeeding James Geoghegan. She is the 12th woman to hold the position and received support from Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, Green Party, and Labour councillors. Seven new councillors were co-opted to replace members elected to the Dáil last month, including replacements for Geoghegan and other party colleagues.
