The turmoil at the FIA deepened as deputy president for sport, Robert Reid, resigned in protest at the governance under President Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Reid cited a lack of transparency and collaborative leadership as reasons for his departure. The FIA’s clash with F1 drivers over plans to penalize swearing, as well as the introduction of new rules allowing the suspension of drivers for such behavior, has further exacerbated tensions within the organization.
