Femke Kok Wins Olympic Title in 500m Speedskating

Dutch speedskater Femke Kok won gold and set an Olympic record in the 500 meters at the Milan Cortina Games, finishing in 36.49 seconds, significantly ahead of defending champion Erin Jackson. Jutta Leerdam took silver, while Japan’s Miho Takagi secured bronze. The men’s team pursuit saw Italy narrowly defeat the U.S. but both teams advanced to the semifinals, while two-time champion Norway was eliminated.
