Federal election 2025: Labor vows $32m for men’s health initiatives to reach ‘blokes who put off their health’

Labor plans to invest an additional $32 million into men’s health initiatives if re-elected, primarily supporting grassroots organizations. Health Minister Mark Butler emphasized the importance of addressing mental health and fatherhood challenges, with significant funding earmarked for Movember to train over 60,000 healthcare workers in men’s healthcare. This initiative comes in response to concerning statistics, including that men are three times more likely to take their own lives than women, with further funding allocated to research men’s mental health and suicide prevention.
