A $450 million upgrade of the Reid Highway and Erindale Road intersection in Balcatta in Perth’s northern suburbs will proceed thanks to a $295 million funding injection from the Federal government, addressing safety and traffic flow concerns. The project, announced during the State election campaign, aims to improve the worst crash intersection in the State, with plans for a bridge, free-flow ramp, and road upgrades. The funding commitment is part of a government decision to enhance infrastructure in response to the rapid growth of Perth’s northern suburbs, with construction set to begin in early 2028 and completion expected within three years.
