A 20-year-old man, Febrio De Zoysa, has pleaded guilty to murdering four children, their mother, and a family friend in a mass stabbing in Ottawa on March 6, 2024. He admitted to four counts of first-degree murder, resulting in automatic life sentences with no parole for 25 years, and pleaded down to second-degree murder for the mother and infant, with parole eligibility to be determined later.
