Fast track, high costs: How short-term thinking could cost us everything

New Zealand’s economy heavily relies on the environment, with agriculture and tourism being the top sectors dependent on factors like healthy ecosystems and clean water. According to the Sustainable Business Council, 13 of the country’s top 20 export commodities, accounting for over 70% of export earnings, are reliant on natural capital. Despite this, there is a tendency to overlook the importance of protecting the environment.
