Wildfire Situation in Alberta and Western Canada

With rising temperatures, strong winds, and lightning threats, Alberta Wildfire has issued a fire ban for northern and central regions, prohibiting wood fires on public and private land; currently, 49 wildfires are active, with 25 classified as out of control. As wildfires threaten communities and oilsands operations, companies like Canadian Natural Resources and MEG Energy have evacuated staff, halting production. Eight notable wildfires in northern Alberta are prompting evacuations in affected areas, while crews continue to battle the blazes.
