The sun is making a much-awaited appearance as clean-up efforts begin after severe weather.
Auckland is set for a five-day stint of sunny weather, contrasting April’s wet conditions following days of severe flooding, thunderstorms, and strong winds that led to states of emergency in several areas. MetService meteorologist Katie Hillyer noted a “really nice easing trend,” with many sunny spots reported, although some cloud remains in eastern North Island and the far south of the South Island. Colder nights with potential frost and fog are expected in central and southern regions.
