Social media scammers are catching more Australians
From April to June this year, Australians reported 1,962 social media scams and 2,018 email/website scams, with losses totaling $64.2 million. Scammers are increasingly using fake profiles on social media to steal money and personal information. While phone call scams are less common, victims tend to lose larger amounts.
