Thich Minh Tue, a Vietnamese monk not officially recognized by the state-sanctioned Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, is embarking on a 2,700-kilometer barefoot pilgrimage across Thailand and Myanmar to Buddhist sites in India. His humble attitude and ascetic practices have drawn attention on social media, despite facing scrutiny and detainment by authorities in Vietnam.
