European travellers visiting the US have decreased significantly due to political and economic tensions and fears of a hostile border under President Donald Trump. In March, visitors from western Europe staying at least one night in the US dropped by 17%, with countries like Ireland, Norway, and Germany experiencing over a 20% decline. This decline poses a threat to the US tourism industry, as overall overseas visitors traveling to the US decreased by 12% in March, the largest drop since 2021, impacting the country’s GDP.
