Estadio Azteca changes name ahead of 2026 WC

The stadium, which hosted the 1970 and 1986 World Cup finals, will be the first to host three World Cups. Banorte will provide a loan of 2.1 billion pesos for the remodeling, with the stadium expected to be completed later this year or in early 2026, though the new name will not be used during the tournament due to FIFA’s sponsorship rules.
