In a rousing celebration of Irish culture, dancers with the Emerald Isle Dance Society welcomed in the annual holiday with a performance of Irish step and tap dancing Saturday at Tecumseh Mall.
Helping shoppers get into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, the young dancers kicked up their heels as a large crowd clapped and cheered.

Plenty of people were dressed in emerald green and four-leaf clovers graced many a face or hat.

The Emerald Isle Dance Society promotes Irish culture and teaches Irish dance to beginners through world championship medal holders.
Saint Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick, is a religious and cultural holiday held annually on March 17, the death date of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.
