Nine Asian elephants were successfully moved from Melbourne Zoo to a larger enclosure at Werribee Open Range Zoo in Australia, with police escorts and truck convoys ensuring their safe journey. The elephants showed signs of happiness and comfort upon reuniting, with behaviors such as ear flapping, trunk touching, and vocalizations. The move, which took almost two years to plan, was aided by training the elephants to enter transport crates and providing them with mild sedatives during the trip.
