Elana Meyers Taylor won the Olympic gold medal in women’s monobob, becoming the most decorated U.S. female bobsledder and tying Bonnie Blair for the most medals by a female U.S. Winter Olympian. At 41, she is also the oldest American woman to win gold at the Winter Games. Meyers Taylor, a mother of two and advocate for children with disabilities, previously competed in two-woman bobsled and has earned a total of 10 world championship medals. She initially aspired to compete in the Summer Olympics before transitioning to bobsledding on her parents’ suggestion.
