Suhail, an eight-year-old Emirati child with severe speech limitations, found his voice for the first time after a six-month speech therapy program at Al Mushrif Children’s Specialty Centre in Abu Dhabi. Despite being diagnosed with epilepsy, dysarthria, and oral dysphagia at a young age, Suhail struggled with basic tasks such as eating. The tailored treatment plan crafted by Emadaddin Ali Al Rababah, Speech Therapist at Al Mushrif Children’s Specialty Center, led to significant improvements in Suhail’s speech production skills and oral muscle strength.

Dr. Fawaghi Al Naqbi, Deputy Chief Medical Officer at AHS, expressed delight at Suhail’s progress and emphasized the quality of expertise within AHS’s network of specialty clinics. Suhail’s ability to communicate has greatly impacted his life and that of his family, who are grateful for the support received during his treatment.

Suhail’s story underscores the importance of accessible specialist care for children facing developmental challenges. AHS’s children’s centers in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain provide a wide range of specialty services, including speech therapy tailored to treat various conditions such as hearing loss, developmental speech delays, and communication disorders.
