El Botín in Madrid, the world’s oldest restaurant, is celebrating its 300th anniversary this year, with its original oven still in use and its wine cellar dating back even further. Recognized as the oldest restaurant in the world since 1986, it has only had two families as owners, remaining open continuously except for a brief period during the pandemic. Notable guests like Queen Sofia and Jacqueline Kennedy have enjoyed signature dishes like the Botín sirloin steak and clams, while music from university student groups called tunas has been a cherished part of the restaurant since 1959.
