Bowling Green has offered Tennessee State’s Eddie George the head football coach position, with mutual interest and ongoing discussions. George, a former Heisman Trophy winner and successful FCS coach, led Tennessee State to the FCS playoffs and a league title last season. If hired, George would return to Ohio where he had a successful college career and NFL tenure, continuing the trend of former star players being hired at historically Black colleges and universities.
